Behind the scenes at Quill / March
March has been an exciting month for us. At the start Lucy took a trip to her favourite place – Tokyo. She strolled through some of her favourite districts such as Yanaka, searched for Sakura - their cherry blossom season, shopped stationery (see our guide on where to shop for stationery in Tokyo) and continued to discover unique and wacky wonders that make Japan so special. Look out for our Japanese Edit in store and online later in April.
We stocked our shelves with some new stationery including notebooks from Notem, pencil cases from Printworks and desk organisers from Shibui. You can see what else is included here.
Mothering Sunday took place on 11th March and we held a little Calligraphy Drop-in event in store on the Saturday. We were very lucky to have mothers and daughters visit us from all over the place including Carlisle and California. We were on hand to teach them how to learn modern calligraphy all afternoon. Our next drop in session will be 14th April. There is no need to book or bring anything, just pop by and we look forward to seeing you.
Back in the studio we’ve been keeping busy. We launched our New Home and Baby Announcement cards and also excitingly, our Express Wedding stationery range. We've also been putting some exciting plans in the calendar for later this year - watch this space!
March saw the launch of our first Flower & Calligraphy workshop with Jen from Willowgold Floral Design. Jen came in to teach the class how to make a hand-tie bouquet, whilst Lucy provided the class with the beginners modern calligraphy know-how. Never has our shop looked or smelt so beautiful with so many blooms.
