INSPIRATION / Wedding at Petersham Nurseries
Earlier this month we were approached by Liz Linkleter Events to work with them on a special wedding that they were planning and organising. It was being held in the beautiful and leafy Petersham Nurseries - a favourite location of ours in London. If ever you find yourself in the Richmond area, we highly suggest popping in for a little wander and a cup of tea.
Liz asked if we could help them with some calligraphy styling for the table which included writing the guests names in calligraphy on tambourines. This was certainly a first for us, and think it might not be the last. It was a brilliant idea which included both the tradition of having place-names, but in such a celebratory way. Imagine the Bride and Groom walking into the dining room with cheers and the sounds of tambourines!
The tables were inspired by al fresco Italian dining on a summers day and styled with warm yellow and orange floral arrangements, sunny yellow linen napkins, blue and white fabric runner with a Mediterranean motif and menus printed on a blue and white design to match the table runner and place mats. Our tambourines were placed next to each plate and tied off with a rich apricot ribbon to complete the look. We decided to write the guests names in a warm gold ink, to stay in keeping with the colourings on the table.
Here you'll see the table captured beautifully by Holly Clark Photography.
