Studio: Our Favourite Calligraphy Materials
We are very lucky to have collected an array of nibs, brushes, pens etc over the years. Below are a few of our favourite materials you would find in constant use in our calligraphy studio:
J Herbin Caroube de Chypre Ink
A new addition to our ink range, but it didn't take long for this to become a favourite. This beautifully packaged ink is called "Caroube de Chypre" - Cyprus Carob - because of its deep brown color. Caroube de Chypre is a dark walnut-brown ink with light red reflections and sparkling gold effect. It's packaged beautifully in a square glass bottle with wax seal, perfect as a gift.
Tombow Mono Zero Precision Eraser
This will become your friend very quickly. It's small and precise eraser is perfect for getting to those ruler lines and in and between your hand-lettering.
Nikko G Nib
This is an excellent pointed nib, and not just for beginners in Modern Calligraphy, as it's super-flexible. Nikko G Nibs are high quality, hand-cut, chrome-plated Japanese pens which give very fine hairlines. They're extremely smooth and long lasting.
Dr. PH. Martin's Copperplate Gold Ink
A shimmering, highly reflective metallic ink that is a must for any gold-lover.
Tom's Studio Pen Rest
This little solid brass pen rest keeps our desk clean and tidy. It can hold up to three brushes or pens. An absolute must-have for calligraphers, artists and creatives.
