If you're wondering how to start introducing flourishes to your letters and words, this workshop will take you through the basic concepts and encourage you to be brave and get creative with your forms. You'll explore how to add flourishes directly connected to letters and fill empty space around your words with them. As always in modern calligraphy you'll be encouraged to develop your own personal style of flourishes that feel like 'you'.
In this class:
- You'll be gifted a set of professional-grade materials, including our very own specially designed practice pad, an oblique pen holder, a new nib plus a new pot of ink, and further guide sheets.
- You'll get a chance to practice, practice, practice with lots of one-to-one help and guidance
- Our workshop guests also receive a special discount to use while you're in store.
You will be taught by Lucy, founder of Quill and author of our first book ‘Modern Calligraphy’.
LEVEL: For anyone that's taken a beginners class or is self taught and confident with pointed pen letterforms, pressures and joining letters to make words.
